Position Letter on Open Space Improvements
To Whom it may Concern,
The Lake Valley Home Owners Association, representing the residents of Lake Valley Estates has long been an advocate and active supporter of Open Space improvements. Members of our neighborhood participated in planning access points to the North Rim trail, and in work days to maintain this trail. We consider access to this trail and its connecting trail system to be a valuable asset. We wish to express our thanks to the Boulder City Open Space department for providing quality recreation opportunities to our neighborhood. We strongly support open space, and continuing improvements.
Regarding the plans to build a Boulder Valley Trail head and Trail, and connect it to the North Rim Trail, we are totally in support of additional connecting trails. The LVHOA board supports the timely approval and construction of these trails, and other planned trails adjoining from the East. We do, however, hope that you seriously consider the proposed modifications to the trail location, submitted by our neighbors in North Rim. We agree that diverting the trails away from the left hand ditch corridor and close proximity to back yards increases the aesthetic value of the open space experience. We think the alternative provides the same benefits as the original plan, plus this scenic advantage.
We hope to continue our close participation in Open Space activities. Thanks again for quality trail systems, joint participation, and working with us to make future trails more usable for all.
Sincerely,
/s
William J. Schwamle
Secretary, Lake Valley Home Owners Association Board
